The short verdict
The Koda 2 Pro gave me more even cooking on large pizzas and a better workflow when hosting than the smaller Koda ovens.
How I tested it
I used the Koda 2 Pro for large pizzas and when cooking for other people. I compared its working room and heat coverage with the smaller Koda ovens.
My retained notes support the workflow and evenness conclusions below, but not a precise pizza count or a controlled table of stone temperatures. I have not filled those gaps with claimed specifications.
Large-format cooking
The oven accepts pizzas up to 18 inches. I found the extra floor useful not only for diameter, but for landing a pizza cleanly and turning it without feeling rushed.
When I was hosting, that room made the whole sequence calmer. I could concentrate on the next dough ball and toppings instead of fighting a cramped chamber.
Anyone needing space for two pizzas should continue to the Ooni Koda 2 Max review.
Cooking performance
The two lateral tapered-flame gas burners spread heat across the larger floor more evenly in my use than the single hot zone of the older Koda designs.
I still watched the bake and turned the pizza, but I spent less time compensating for one dominant corner. That was the performance difference I noticed most on larger pizzas.
If multi-fuel cooking matters more than the Koda’s larger capacity, continue to the Ooni Karu 2 Pro review.
Controls
The oven includes ooni connect digital hub and one food probe included and Temperature display, alerts and cook logs through Ooni app. Those tools made it easier to keep an eye on the oven while preparing food for a group.
They did not remove the need to judge the pizza or check where the floor was hottest. I treated them as workflow aids, not a substitute for attention.
Everyday use
At 30kg and 682 × 652 × 393mm, the Koda 2 Pro did not feel portable in the everyday sense.
I would plan its position before buying and leave it there, ideally on a sturdy trolley or dedicated counter. The improved hosting workflow makes more sense when setup is not another job before every cook.

Who should buy it?
I paid the £599 UK list price. I would choose the Koda 2 Pro when I wanted a roomy gas oven, more even cooking on larger pizzas and a smoother workflow while hosting.
I would skip it for occasional solo cooks, tight patios or regular transport. The price, size and weight only earn their keep when the extra cooking room is genuinely useful.

Pizza Preacher verdict
The Koda 2 Pro made large-pizza cooking and hosting easier for me. Its £599 price and 30kg weight mean that extra room needs to solve a real problem rather than merely look impressive.
Buy it for large pizzas and regular group cooking. Skip it for occasional solo use or a small patio.
The overall score is the mean of the five decision factors above.
